One&Five
SEATTLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS FIRST AND FIFTH GRADE CLASSROOMS RECEIVE FREE FIELD TRIP TICKETS, FREE DRAMATIC CONNECTIONS WORKSHOPS, AND FREE BUSES!
Thanks to a generous grant from the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, SCT is able to expand our One&Five Program for the next two seasons. SCT established the One&Five initiative to expand access to more students with the goal of ensuring all Seattle Public School students see a live theatre performance and experience a theatre education workshop as they enter and exit elementary school. We're eager to connect with more Seattle students and educators during our 24-25 season, through the following program offerings:
As a participant in SCT’s One&Five Program, SPS 1st and 5th grade classrooms will receive the following classroom package for one show of their choosing:

- Free funding for a bus to and from SCT on the day of the field trip (up to $400 per bus, reimbursed by SCT after receipt of the invoice)
- Free Dramatic Connections workshops (in your classroom before or after your field trip), for each classroom participating in the One&Five program

One&Five Program FAQ
No. Each classroom only receives this free package for one show per season. If you’d like to bring your classroom to SCT for more than one field trip, you’ll have to pay for your field trip tickets and any Dramatic Connections workshops.
- You will book buses using the normal process for your school. Once you receive the invoice, please email it to schoolprograms@sct.org and we will process a reimbursement for you, up to $400 per bus. When you email the invoice, please clearly share which name should be listed on the check we write, and where it can be mailed.
- If you have other ideas on how we can make the bus funding process easier for your school, please email us your ideas. We are actively exploring other options because we acknowledge that a reimbursement system does not work well for all schools.
TBD! We still need to problem solve this. We’ll share information once we have answers.
Yes! All of your students in any K/1st, 1st/2nd, or 4th/5th combination classes can participate in this free program.
We recommend a post-show workshop, so students will have their own experiences of seeing the show to reflect on with SCT Teaching Artists. However, we can schedule the 1-hour workshop whenever it will work best for your classroom. Ideally, it will take place within one week of your field trip date.
Learn more about our Dramatic Connections workshops here.
After you have seen the show and had the workshop, we will ask you to complete a post-experience survey. Your survey response is essential to helping SCT continue this free offering.
