When a 10-year-old boy named Xavier has to go live with his uncle, it isn’t easy. His uncle John John has just left the Marines after eight years of service, and both must navigate family issues and strong emotions—both within themselves and with each other.
But something happens when they hear about the most famous Comic Con in the world. Xavier and John John discover a mutual love of superheroes and decide to take the trip, donning their own costumes. Can a superhero outfit help them find their own superpowers? Can they learn to trust one another and triumph over a world of obstacles and uncertainty? Can cosplay help them find their real selves? Chicka Chicka Boom Boom: The Holiday Musical puts a holiday spin on our wildly popular production as the alphabet scrambles to decorate a giant Christmas tree. They string lights, hang ornaments, and sing, dance, and tumble into holiday hijinks. With lively songs, clownish comedy, and plenty of audience participation, this merry musical invites kids and grown-ups alike to clap, sing, dance and join in the fun, and discover that every letter and sound has a place in this sparkly celebration.

Young Ellen can’t wait for winter. From skating on frozen streams to parties on an icy lake, winter brought friends, family, and fun together, creating memories that never leave her.
In this cozy wintertime play at Seattle Children’s Theatre, based on the award-winning book by Ellen Bryan Obed, Twelve Kinds of Ice sees an adult Ellen sharing stories from her winter in Maine and how she learned that anything is possible with practice and care. Featuring live music on piano and guitar, Ellen looks back at her childhood on the ice, and sees herself reflected back.

Where the Mountain Meets the Moon

Minli lives in a rundown house in the desolate valley of Fruitless Mountain. In the evenings, her father tells her folktales about dragons, jewels, and the Old Man on the Moon, who knows the answers to all life’s questions. One day, determined to improve her family’s fortunes, Minli sets off to find the Old Man on the Moon, to ask for help.
Based on the award-winning novel by Grace Lin, Where the Mountain Meets the Moon is a musical that takes audiences on an extraordinary journey. Along the way, Minli encounters a cast of incredible characters and magical creatures, including a dragon who accompanies her on her quest for the ultimate answer. Can Minli find the Old Man on the Moon and help her family, or will his answer be something quite different?

Rocketing to Seattle Children’s Theatre this spring, MAROONED! A Space Comedy is a sci-fi comedy packed with slapstick humor, parodies of classic space adventure tropes, and over-the-top mishaps, turning a life-or-death scenario into a comedic journey. MAROONED! A Space Comedy combines live performance, shadow puppetry, and marionettes in a production that is “Achingly beautiful…” (Maryland Theatre Guide) and “…amusing, charming, delightful and, at times, utterly and completely astonishing” (DC Theatre Scene).
