Artistic Director Emerita

Linda (she/ her) served as Artistic Director of Seattle Children’s Theatre from 1984 until 2016, directing 87 plays, including 56 world premieres. Linda also directed for Intiman, Empty Space, the Group Theatre, the mobile outreach for Seattle Rep, and in Syracuse, Chicago, Austin, Tempe, Japan, Australia, and the Olympic Arts Festival in 1992. She served on the boards of Theatre Communications Group, ASSITEJ/USA, and the Executive and Foundation Boards of the Stage Directors and Choreographers. She was inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Theatre in 1998. Linda is a recipient of the Gregory Falls Sustained Achievement Award, the Seattle Mayor’s Arts Award, the Washington State Governor’s Arts Award, the Distinguished Achievement Award from UW College of Arts and Sciences, the ArtsFund award for outstanding achievement in the arts, and the Orlin Corey Medallion from the Children’s Theatre Foundation of America. In 2017 she was chosen as Theatre Practitioner of the Year by Theatre Communications Group. Linda currently serves on the Board of Seattle Rep. 

Marianne (she/her) is delighted to be back at SCT where she has choreographed over 30 productions with her favorite director, Linda Hartzell. Highlights include Lyle the Crocodile, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and James and the Giant Peach. Ms. Roberts has also choreographed at other Seattle theaters and taught ballet and dance for actors at Cornish College. She danced professionally in NYC, toured internationally with New York-based dance companies, and appeared in the film “Pumping Iron”. Hugs to my wonderful family, especially grandsons Raden and Rowan. 

Music Director & Pianist

Claire (she/her) is thrilled to be returning to the SCT stage! She is a Seattle-based actor, music director, and teaching artist. Recent performance credits include: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Seattle Children’s Theatre), Hairspray (Village Theatre), Jeeves Takes a Bow, Black Coffee, and The Bishop’s Wife (Taproot Theatre Co.), The Odyssey (Book-It Repertory Theatre), Romeo and Juliet (Seattle Shakespeare Co.), and a handful of new musical workshops at Seattle Repertory Theatre. She is currently on faculty at Cornish College of the Arts, a guest teaching artist with Village Theatre KIDSTAGE, and runs a private music studio.

Scenic Designer

Jennifer (she/her) is delighted to return to the Great Green Room from Spain, Jennifer’s new home. Recently, she designed “El Rey Tuerto” and the premier of “Noviembres” for Compañía El Escondite of Navarra. Jennifer designed for many theaters in the Northwest for 35 years. Favorite SCT sets: Robin Hood, Lyle the Crocodile, Busytown, Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, Bunnicula, The Tempest, Frog and Toad, and Afternoon of the Elves, the show that opened the Charlotte Martin Theatre. Jennifer received her MFA in Set and Lighting Design from UW and for 22 years was on the faculty of Cornish College.  

Cathy (she/her) is a two-time Theatre Puget Sound Design Award winner, recipient of the Southeastern Theatre Design Award, Los Angeles Drama-Logue Award, San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Award, and was an inaugural Theatre Communications Group Design Fellow. Cathy has designed costumes for over 100 theatre and opera productions. Her work has been seen across the country at the Hartford Stage, San Diego Repertory Theatre, Syracuse Stage, New Victory Theatre, Cincinnati Opera, Pittsburg Opera, Seattle Opera, 5th Avenue Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Seattle Children’s Theatre, LA Theatre Works, Intiman Playhouse, ACT Theatre, Village Theatre, Childsplay, and Clarence Brown Theatre. Cathy has been a guest lecturer at The University of Washington and Cornish College of the Arts. She holds an M.F.A. in Costume Design from The University of California, San Diego. 

Lighting Designer

Andrew (he/him) most recently designed lights for Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience at SCT. Seattle designs: Seattle Repertory Theatre, ACT, Book-It Repertory Theatre, Seattle Shakespeare Company, New Century Theatre Company, Intiman Theatre Festival, Washington Ensemble Theatre, Strawberry Theatre Workshop, Seattle Public Theatre, ArtsWest, & On The Boards. National: Indiana Repertory Theatre, Arizona Theatre Company, Cornerstone Theatre Company, and Flint Youth Theatre, among others. He received the 2010 & 2011 Gregory Award for Outstanding Lighting Designer. Andrew holds a BA from Duke University and an MFA from the University of Washington, where he currently teaches. 

Original Sound Designer

Chris (he/him) is very happy to be returning to SCT. In Seattle he has designed at The Seattle Repertory Theatre, ACT, Intiman, and The 5th Avenue. In California he’s designed at The Old Globe Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, the Mark Taper Forum, and the Geffen Playhouse. He spent seven seasons as the resident designer at the American Repertory Theatre in Boston, designing over forty productions while there. He has also designed in New York, Chicago, and Washington D.C., and internationally in Singapore, Taiwan, and Moscow. He holds a degree in Classical Piano performance from Cornish College of the Arts. 

Sound Designer

Joseph (he/him) is a thirty-year veteran of the Seattle theatre community and a twelve year veteran of SCT, who also grew up seeing SCT productions at the Poncho Theatre. Previous SCT sound design credits include Carmela Full Of Wishes and The Best Summer Ever! A few favorite Seattle sound designs include The Feast, Belleville, and Year Of The Rooster for MAP Theatre; Crime And Punishment and A Streetcar Named Desire for the old Intiman Theatre; and a 2013 production of Cliffhouse for Macha Monkey Theatre which earned him a Gregory Award nomination. He also enjoys baseball, collecting records, and yelling at clouds. 

Puppet Design Consultant & Puppet Coach

Annett (she/her) believes anything can be a puppet! She has made all kinds of puppets out of all kinds of materials for people, projects, and theatres both nationally and internationally for both stage and film. She has also done puppet coaching and consulting. In her career as a puppet designer and builder she has built marionettes, Muppet type puppets, rod puppets, large body/costume style, modified Bunraku, shadow, and pretty much every other kind of puppet. She has attended the National Puppetry Festivals and The Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center (invitation only) in Connecticut regularly and performs regionally in improv and slams.

Stage Manager

Mr. Paul (he/him) has stage managed locally at the Seattle Repertory Theatre, ACT, Intiman, and the 5th Avenue Theatre. National credits include The Guthrie, Shakespeare Theatre in DC, Oregon Shakespeare Theatre, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre; Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Actor’s Theatre of Louisville Humana Festival, La Jolla Playhouse, Baltimore’s Center Stage, Manhattan Theatre Club, and the late Alaska Repertory Theatre. For The Seattle Children’s Theatre: Addy, An American Girl Story, Night of the Living Dead, Harold and the Purple Crayon, Cat in the Hat, Pippi Longstocking, Dick Whittington and His Cat, Elephant and Piggie’s “We Are In A Play!”, Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Rock Experience and The Best Summer Ever!.

Assistant Stage Manager

Anna (she/her) is thrilled to be working on this production. One of the first shows she ever saw was Go, Dog. Go! at Seattle Children’s Theatre in 2002. She is a graduate of Western Washington University and a past Apprentice with Seattle Repertory Theatre’s Professional Artist Training Program (2019-2020). Select credits include Hello, Dolly! (Village Theatre), Choir Boy (ACT), Into the Woods (The 5th Avenue Theatre), Shout Sister Shout!, The Children (Seattle Repertory Theatre), and Always… Patsy Cline (Taproot Theatre).

Sub Pianist

David (he/they) is a composer, music director, and actor, best known for writing “Ranked”, featured in the HBO Documentary My So-Called High School Rank. He recently debuted his song “Dance With Me” with Luke Hawkins at the iconic Birdland Jazz Club in NYC. David is a 2023 Eugene O’Neill National Music Theatre Conference semi-finalist for his musical The Way. Seattle Conducting/Piano credits: The Hello Girls (Taproot Theatre), Mamma Mia! (Village Theatre). He is a co-founder of Uproar Theatrics, a theatre licensing company. David teaches singing, songwriting, and piano performance at his music studio in Seattle’s Central District. @daytaygo
