Drama school Auditions
In light of recent developments regarding COVID – 19, Drama School has decided to take video submissions instead of in-person auditions for The Performance Lab Series. For this year’s auditions we will only be taking video submissions rather than holding audition in-person slots. All those auditioning will need to present a one-minute memorized monologue, and those who would like to be considered for a musical Performance Lab will also need to sing 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song. If you are auditioning for a musical, you may sing your song without accompaniment or with a karaoke track. All video submissions will need to be submitted with a completed audition form and a photo of the student by Monday, April 13, no later than 5pm to email@example.com. Click below for more information, the fillable audition form, and instructions on how to submit your video. Learn More
Students may audition if they wish to take any class in their age group for which they have not completed the prerequisites. Through the submitted audition video, students will be asked to demonstrate the skills appropriate to the class. For this year’s auditions we will only be taking video submissions rather than holding audition in-person slots. Acting II & The Workshop Series: No audition necessary. If you don’t have the prerequisites, please contact the Drama School at firstname.lastname@example.org for class placement. Musical Revue: Submit a singing video audition, with or without recorded accompaniment. No piano accompaniment is necessary for Musical Revue auditions. Long-Form Improv & Comedy Troupe: During your video audition demonstrate comedic timing and physical ability moves through your monologue. Comedy Troupe: We teach and ask you to demonstrate some safe physical comedy moves at the audition. Backstage II: We will have a brief phone interview to discuss your experience in technical theatre. To schedule your video audition or brief phone interview please email email@example.com.
We offer placement auditions for students interested in advanced classes but who have not completed the prerequisites. Audition dates and times for School Year 2020-2021 will be available late Summer 2020.
General Auditions for the 2020-2021 SeasonSCT holds its annual General Auditions each spring for actors age 18+. The deadline for submission has passed, but feel free to check back next year for more information regarding auditions for our Mainstage shows.
