FIELD TRIP PERFORMANCES | FOR AGES 8+
February 18 - March 13, 2026. Approx. 60 minutes, no intermission.
Before he was a legend, Bruce Lee was just a young man trying to figure it all out—right here in Seattle. This action-packed, soul-searching story follows the Young Dragon as he navigates a new country and finds his voice. Through movement, magic, and heart, we meet the human behind the icon— flawed, fierce, and full of possibility. Watch as Lee learns to clear his brain by mimicking the white noise of water and begins fusing martial arts with philosophy. From street fights in Hong Kong to teaching self-defense and chasing big dreams, Bruce’s journey reminds us that finding your way means first figuring out who you are. Come see how Seattle shaped him into a flexible, fluid, and flowing master—and how he reshaped the world.
Robin Hood
FIELD TRIP PERFORMANCES | FOR AGES 5+
March 25 - May 18, 2026. Approx. 60 minutes, no intermission.
Robin Hood and his band once again return to SCT’s stage to raise a ruckus as they do all the wrong things, for the right reasons. The stage comes alive with swordfights and archery, word play and physical comedy, as Robin Hood fights for justice, dodges the Sheriff of Nottingham, and woos Maid Marian. This high-energy take on the classic tale brings justice center stage—and the audience right into the fun. With lots of action, clever disguises, live music, and a whole lot of heart, Robin Hood is one of the most popular shows SCT has ever produced! Get ready to laugh, cheer, and fall in love with Sherwood Forest all over again as the characters in this reimagined classic swashbuckle their way into our hearts!
Billy Goats Gruff and Other Tales
FIELD TRIP PERFORMANCES | FOR AGES 3+
April 22 - May 22, 2026. Approx. 60 minutes, no intermission.
Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia’s newest production, Billy Goats Gruff and Other Tales, presents a fresh and engaging reimagining of three cherished children’s stories—Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Three Little Pigs, and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. Filled with adventure, humor, and heroism, the story follows a brave raccoon and clever mouse who are on a journey to collect treasure. Along the way, they unknowingly help the goats, bears, and pigs, preventing disaster—without any of the animals ever encountering a true villain. This imaginative retelling seamlessly interweaves three classic tales into a heartwarming adventure that celebrates friendship and courage.
One&Five Program FAQ
No. Each classroom only receives this free package for one show per season. If you’d like to bring your classroom to SCT for more than one field trip, you’ll have to pay for your field trip tickets and any Dramatic Connections workshops.
- You will book buses using the normal process for your school. Once you receive the invoice, please email it to schoolprograms@sct.org and we will process a reimbursement for you, up to $400 per bus. When you email the invoice, please clearly share which name should be listed on the check we write, and where it can be mailed.
- If you have other ideas on how we can make the bus funding process easier for your school, please email us your ideas. We are actively exploring other options because we acknowledge that a reimbursement system does not work well for all schools.
No. Only the buses used to transport your first or fifth graders will be reimbursed.
Yes! All of your students in any K/1st, 1st/2nd, or 4th/5th combination classes can participate in this free program.
We recommend a post-show workshop, so students will have their own experiences of seeing the show to reflect on with SCT Teaching Artists. However, we can schedule the 1-hour workshop whenever it will work best for your classroom. Ideally, it will take place within one week of your field trip date.
Learn more about our Dramatic Connections workshops here.
We have partnered with Dr. Matt Omasta from Miami University Ohio to research the efficacy of the One&Five program. After signing up for a field trip, Dr. Omasta will reach out to your school’s principal for permission to contact you. If your Principal agrees, you will receive emails from Dr. Omasta, asking if you would like to opt in to our study. This is completely optional for you and your students, but it is incredibly helpful in our evaluation of the program, and in our efforts to secure funding for future years.
