Step into the spotlight and build your dance confidence! In this upbeat, movement-focused class, students will explore the fundamental styles of musical theatre dance. With guidance from a professional choreographer, young performers will learn proper technique, rhythm, coordination, and expressive performance skills. Whether you’re new to dance or ready to refine your skills, this class lays the groundwork for every triple threat in the making! This class is encouraged to be taken alongside other Triple Threat offerings, to give growing performers the multifaceted tools needed to truly excel in the arts. Class Description:

Find your voice and let it shine! In this class, students will build the foundational skills every musical theatre performer needs to sing with confidence and control. Through vocal exercises, ensemble work, and solo practice, we’ll explore breath support, tone, diction, and healthy singing habits. Students will also learn how to connect acting and emotion to their songs because in musical theatre, every note tells part of the story! This class is encouraged to be taken alongside other Triple Threat offerings, to give growing performers the multifaceted tools needed to truly excel in the arts. Step into the Character Lab and discover what makes a role truly come alive! Building on the foundations of Actor’s Toolkit, students will experiment with voice, movement, and imagination to develop layered, dynamic characters. Together, we’ll explore how a character thinks, feels, and responds to the world around them and how those choices bring powerful storytelling to the stage. Through ensemble exercises and creative play, young actors will expand their range and craft performances full of life and authenticity. This class is encouraged to be taken alongside other Triple Threat offerings, to give growing performers the multifaceted tools needed to truly excel in the arts. Put your musical theatre skills into action in this exciting class! Students will apply their singing, acting, and movement techniques to selected scenes and songs from beloved musicals. Guided by SCT teaching artists, young performers will explore how character, story, and ensemble come together in musical storytelling. While this class is designed for students who have attended Musical Theatre - Foundations and Musical Theatre - Ensemble, it’s also open to those with prior musical theatre experience who are ready to step into the spotlight. The session culminates in a studio showcase for family and friends to celebrate their showstopping growth and creativity! Capacity for this class is 12 students. Ever wonder how actors perform a combat scene? Together, we’ll discover how stage combat techniques can become a part of our “Actor’s toolkit” to use on stage. Class Description:

Put your acting tools into action! Building on the foundations of Actor’s Toolkit and Character Lab, students will apply their skills to scripted scenes and one-act plays. Working collaboratively with our teaching artists, young actors will explore how objectives, relationships, and emotional connection bring stories to life onstage. While this class is designed for students who have completed earlier levels, it’s also a great fit for those with prior acting experience who are ready to dive straight into scene work. Each session of Actor’s Toolkit: Scene Study Showcase offers new challenges and activities, so students can take this class multiple times as they continue to build confidence in their craft. The session culminates in a studio showcase for families and friends to celebrate the ensemble’s work and creative growth. Capacity for this class is 12 students.
