The least scary thing you’ll see this Halloween season

Meet Leonardo, a terrible monster who isn’t scary at all. Determined to finally scare the tuna salad out of someone, he meets Sam, the most scaredy-cat kid in the world. But instead of a good scare, the two discover something neither expected: friendship.

Based on the beloved books by Mo Willems, Leonardo! A Wonderful Show about a Terrible Monster comes to life through hundreds of illustrated paper puppets, furry monsters, live music, and cinematic magic. Watch the artists create it all live right before your eyes!

Workshop: An Exploration of Shadow Puppetry

Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 12:00pm

Age recommendation: 6+

Puppetry artists Cass Bray & Zane Exactly, Henson Foundation grant-awarded duo of Shadow Girls Cult, will lead participants through a one-hour workshop, using overhead projectors, found materials, and a projection screen to explore the fundamentals of shadow puppetry manipulation and construction.

This workshop will guide participants on how to transform simple materials into unique and bold shadows. Experiment and play with us as we explore different shapes, textures, colors, and characters to breathe life into new stories and ideas.

This is a fun opportunity for children and families looking to try shadow puppetry for the first time. Feed your curiosity and creativity, while learning how to use your body and other materials to create cinematic imagery.
