Field Trips
Plan a Field Trip to Seattle Children’s Theatre
A field trip to Seattle Children’s Theatre is more than just a performance—it’s a powerful learning experience for young audiences. Designed specifically for preschool through high school students, our weekday student matinees bring imaginative, age-appropriate stories to life onstage.
SCT welcomes schools, Montessori programs, preschools, and daycares from across the region to experience live theatre that sparks creativity, builds empathy, and inspires discovery.
Booking is simple for groups of 10 or more—just submit your request form. Smaller groups? Give us a call or email, and we’ll help get you set up. Homeschool families can find their dedicated options on our Homeschool Field Trips page.
Together, we’ll spark something unforgettable.

Field Trip FAQs
SCT will send invoices via email at least two months before your field trip date. Please complete payment or send a purchase order 30 days prior to your field trip.
SCT will NOT cancel your reservation if payment is not completed prior to attending. However, future bookings will not be allowed until all overdue invoices are settled.
If you need to cancel your performance or change the number of tickets in your reservation, you must do so by this 30-day deadline. After that point, changes may not be possible.
All Student Matinee sales are final. SCT does not provide refunds or exchanges for unused tickets. We do not provide vouchers for anyone absent on the day of performance.
Tickets cannot be given to anyone outside of your organization and cannot be resold for profit.
If you need extra seats for more adults or students, please reach out to our Field Trips Coordinator at 206.859.4082 or fieldtrips@sct.org and we will check for availability. SCT cannot guarantee that additional tickets will be added, due to limited seating capacities. We do not allow tickets to be added to orders upon arrival.
If you do NOT receive a confirmation within two weeks of placing your request, please check your spam folder. If you still do not see a confirmation, please contact our Field Trips Coordinator at fieldtrips@sct.org to confirm that we’ve received your reservation request.
Please plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to your performance start time. You can find the performance start time on your invoice and confirmation emails. We ask that one teacher checks in with an SCT staff member when you arrive to learn about the seating process and next steps.
Any late-arrivals will be seated in the theatre, but timing will be decided by the House Manager. If you are going to be late, please call 206.859.4082 and let us know your ETA.
If your group has wheelchairs or needs any special accommodations, please notify our team at least one week prior to your performance date by contacting our Field Trips Coordinator at fieldtrips@sct.org.
At SCT, we can provide free tickets to Personal Care Attendants who attend a field trip to support students. Please indicate in your field trip request form how many adults are serving this purpose.
If your reservation is already completed, please contact our Field Trips Coordinator at 206.859.4082 or fieldtrips@sct.org to add an extra ticket for a PCA.
Our School Programs and Partnerships team monitors inclement weather closely. If we suspect that weather will impact your scheduled field trip, we will connect with your school individually with a specific plan.
Our general process is as follows:
- If we are able to run the show, you will not hear from us (no news is good news).
- If we cancel the show, we will notify schools by 7AM.
- If the show is running, but your school is unable to attend due to your own schools’ weather policy, please contact SCT as soon as you are able.
For any missed field trips due to weather: we will work with you to switch into a different date, a different production, or refund if scheduling is not possible.
Each student matinee performance will have a brief talkback with the cast. If your questions are not answered, we invite you to write and mail letters to SCT! We will be happy to answer questions for your class and share your letters with the production’s creative team.
