Financial Assistance

At SCT, we believe that financial barriers separating kids from theatre should not exist. As such, SCT Drama School is committed to offering financial assistance on two levels:

Scholarships will be granted to those families who demonstrate a strong financial need, and who would be otherwise unable to participate in our classes. We base our eligibility criteria on the guidelines established by the HUD Income Guidelines for King County. Financial aid is disbursed on a sliding scale – eligible families generally receive scholarships covering between 20%-70% of tuition. All families, with exceptions granted only in the most extreme cases, will be required to pay a minimum of 30% of tuition costs. Because of budget limitations, we are generally only able to cover one class per student per session in each eligible family.

Payment Plans may be taken advantage of by anyone, regardless of financial need. This option is available to families who prefer to split their balance into two or three installments. No application is required; if you would like to arrange a payment plan, simply call the Drama School at (206) 859.4040.

Families applying for financial aid MUST register for a class or camp and submit a minimum deposit of $25 per class, $50 per full-day camp or $100 per CAST registration or Performance Lab per student at the time of application before a financial aid determination can be made. This amount secures the student’s place in the class while the financial aid application is under consideration. This deposit is refundable only if you are unable to accept the financial aid award because the amount is insufficient. Call us at (206) 859.4040 to make your deposit and secure your spot in class.

For full consideration, financial aid applications must be received no later than the dates listed below. Applications will be processed on a first- come, first-served basis. Applications received after these dates will be considered only if there are scholarship funds available. You will be notified of your financial aid decision approx. a week after the application deadline. Unless prior arrangements are made with the Drama School, the balance of tuition, if any, must be paid in full prior to the start of class.
