Hi, I’m Asha Navaratnasingam and have been involved in the arts for most of my life. I discovered my passion for theatre when I saw my first live production at only three years old. For the years since, I’ve performed in and assisted with many shows, including playing Melpomene in Xanadu at Hi-Liners Musical Theatre, Anita in 101 Dalmations at Seattle Children’s Theatre, and Lafayette in Aristocats at Seattle Children’s Theatre. I’ve also worked behind the scenes as a production assistant in a number of plays to include Legally Blonde and Pirates Past Noon at Hi-Liners Musical Theatre. I’ve enjoyed partnering with teaching artists at Hi-Liners Musical Theatre to develop and implement a curriculum for preschool programming. In addition to my theatre experience, I’ve studied piano for seven years, taken voice lessons for over three years, and have been in dance classes for more than two years. These experiences have shaped me into a well-rounded artist and further enhanced my love for theatre. I seek opportunities to serve and be involved in my community. Currently I am on the Youth Advisory Board at Coyote Central, where we provide a youth voice to Coyote’s strategic planning and programming. I have also performed in Hit the Streets at Coyote Central, a program dedicated to spreading awareness about issues in our world and making a positive impact in society. It fulfills me knowing that I am helping this anchor in our community become even stronger. I am so grateful for all the opportunities I have had to explore the arts and pursue my passion for theatre, and I plan to remain involved and committed not only to continually striving and learning as an artist, but also to spreading joy through working with the community.
