Where Your Money Goes

At Seattle Children's Theatre, we pride ourselves on having a variety of programs that appeal to Seattle's diverse community of young people. Your donation or sponsorship helps us fund the following programs:

School Children Access Fund

Where Your Money Goes Photo

To build an audience that is a true cross-section of our community, Seattle Children's Theatre provides a discount to all students and teachers attending our school matinee performances. Including the more than 7,000 free tickets (given to children in the federally funded free and reduced price lunch program), the subsidy costs SCT almost $1 million annually.

New Play Development

Each season, Seattle Children's Theatre produces two to four new scripts that are written especially for our young patrons. Since 1975, we have developed and produced over 90 such scripts, many of which have subsequently been produced by theatres across the country.

Education Programs

At Seattle Children's Theatre, art and education are both integral components of our mission. Young people are our primary audience, and we have created numerous arts education programs specifically for this group:

Seattle Childrens Theatre - Drama School

Year-round classes that range from Story Drama for four-year-olds to the Young Actor Institute, the most respected teen actor training in the region.

Seattle Childrens Theatre - Education Outreach

Drama workshops, residencies, and teacher training for schools and community groups throughout western Washington.
