When Dorothy gets her wish of escaping her dull Kansas farm-life, it brings her to a world she could have only imagined. Filled with munchkins, witches, and even flying monkeys, this wondrous new place is bright and exciting, but it isn’t home. With her new friends, Dorothy sets out to ask the all-powerful wizard to help her, help them all, return to who they really are inside.

With her new friends, Dorothy sets out to ask the all-powerful wizard to help her, help them all, return to who they really are inside.

The Wizard of Oz features an all-star cast, with many returning SCT favorites. Kasey Nusbickel, who played lead Gabriella Montez in last season’s High School Musical, stars as Dorothy. She is joined by Julie Briskman as Miss Gultch/Wicked Witch, Peter Crook (SCT’s adaptation of Hamlet) as The Professor/Wizard, Auston James (Busytown) as Hunk/Scarecrow, John Patrick Lowrie (High School Musical) as Uncle Henry/Oz Guard, Sharva Maynard as Auntie Em/Glinda, Todd Jefferson Moore as Zeke/Cowardly Lion and Matt Wolfe (Busytown) as Hickory/Tinman. The cast is supported by a very talented ensemble, including Felicia Bertch (Night of the Living Dead), Charissa Bertels, Kristin Culp, Jadd Davis (High School Musical), Beth DeVries, Jason Kappus (High School Musical), Felicia Vonshell Loud, Don Darryl Rivera (High School Musical, Busytown), Mickey Rowe (High School Musical, Night of the Living Dead) and Elizabeth Walzer (High School Musical). Russell Hodgkinson and Karen Skrinde understudy.

Director Hartzell has a talented and experienced artistic team behind her for this production. The include Fight Choreographer Geoffrey Alm (Night of the Living Dead, Hamlet, The Neverending Story), Costume Designer Cathy Hunt (The Neverending Story, Busytown), Music Director Mark Rabe (Busytown, High School Musical), Lighting Designer Rick Paulsen (The Hundred Dresses, The Big Friendly Giant), Choreographer Marianne Roberts (Busytown), Puppet Master Douglas N. Paasch (The Neverending Story, Busytown, The Big Friendly Giant), Projection Designer L. B. Morse, SCT Resident Sound Designer Chris R. Walker and Set Designer Matthew Smucker (Hamlet). Music Director Rabe will be joined by musicians Harlan Feinstein, Matt Johnston (The Green Sheep) and Brad McRae performing live music for performances.
